When someone oppressed you, you are given three options to choose from. They are all considered your right and you are free to choose which ever one you like:
1. To make dua against the one who has oppressed you. And if you made dua against him then Allah will take your right from him/her in this world before the Hereafter. Because the supplication of the oppressed is surely answered and this is your right.
2. To NOT make dua against him in this world but to wait so you take back your right from him on the Day of Resurrection. Because if you make dua against him in this world, you will take back your right in this world what will equal the oppression he oppressed you with or you will give him from your bad deeds. Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم said, “If he has good deeds, those deeds will be taken from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no good deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him.” (Bukhari)
3. But there is a third option and it is the best option of all, and this option only few people do. What is this option? The third option is to forgive the one who oppressed you. Do you know what that means? Do you know what forgiveness means? If you forgive the one who oppressed you it means punishment will not befall him in this world because of you. Also, you will not take from his reward on the Day of Resurrection. You will say, “How will I bear not making dua against him in this world?” and then I also don’t take from his reward on the Day of Resurrection? Then what will I benefit?? You will benefit more than if you were to take from his reward on the Day of Resurrection. Allah will give you reward but not from the reward of the oppressor because it’s over, your forgave him. Allah Himself will give you the reward even more than if you had taken from the reward of the oppressor. Allah will give a greater amount. So you are the winner at the end. Allah said, “And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and make reconciliation – his reward is due from Allah” (42:40). So the best choice is to forgive the one who oppressed you and I know that it is difficult to push yourself and overcome your wound
